This Labour Day, in addition to participating in local Ottawa events, we are happy to share Daniel’s latest article, published today on CanLII Connects. Daniel was asked to select a list of notable court decisions, based on his own criteria, and to write about them.
In reviewing the leading decisions that recognize union rights (collective bargaining and the right to strike), he encountered an historical narrative that you might not expect from the Supreme Court of Canada. While these decisions recognized limited legal rights for organized workers, they also tell a story of union rights being won through struggle, on the ground. Check it out!
